Just a quick note to catch everyone up on CLB qualifying process for APA. As many will recall, after the qualifying meet at Muscle Shoals, suggestions about one portion of the female color from the judge (Danny Jones) required further work by the club and APA Standard Committee to resolve. The Committee members met at the APA Semi-Annual in Lucasville, reviewed a number of birds there, and considered the options. An inquiry was made to the ADBS about a modification of the wording that combined the gray and brown elements, and a poll of ADBS members was done. The APA received the letter conveying the results of that poll, and while there was still some apparent difference of opinion, the Committee will be going forward in January to the APA Board, recommending the admission of the variety with the modified description for the female text. It is the APA Board that has the ultimate vote on this, and the Committee will make them aware of all that transpired in getting to this point. We will let you know what the Board's decision is in January at the Florida Sunshine Classic. In addition, a letter outlining this will be composed and formally sent to the ADBS.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions concerning this process. I posted this on the ADBS site earlier, so there is no need for any of you to copy this over there.
