Several breeders have written to ask about the revised CLB Standard.
I will print it in two parts. First will be the male color--which is now compatible to the Standard in Holland/England. But we do not just show Cockerels and Cocks.
The second part, will be the female color, which is now written a little closer to the Dutch Standard than first proposed at the Qualifier Show, but still not the female color to breed for, or exhibit, and if adopted, could change the variety in a few short years--to a female that will be barely distinguishable or indistinguishable from the Light Brown female.
So to vote Yes or NO---if that is what we will be asked to do, to the complete Standard will not be the Club discussion that APA asked for--you need to know WHY. And you can offer input for discussion. Few questions have ever been asked---and what you see is what you get--if you do not ask questions about the breeding of this beautiful variety of Dutch! It CAN be the correct Dutch Standard, and the long term benefits will be a credit to the ADBS--and the APA, as well. We have gotten closer! Let's get it right!
